Thank You to the Giving Doll

The IFCR would like to thank The Giving Doll (www.thegivingdoll.org) of Wadsworth, Ohio for generously donating their beautiful, handmade dolls to our new families.

The Giving Doll’s mission is to give faith, love, joy, hope and comfort to children worldwide, at times of special need through the construction and distribution of handmade cloth dolls.

The Giving Doll was created and copyrighted by Jan Householder in March 2006, as a community volunteer project, when a friend’s daughter (Katherine) became a patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Handmade cloth dolls were constructed by volunteer sewers, and Katherine took the first dolls to the hospital, when she went for treatments. As other needs became apparent, the program expanded to include children in a variety of settings worldwide.

In 2009 The Giving Doll, Inc. became a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.

The Giving Doll has made and distributed 38,700 dolls since March 2006!

Thank you to Jan and all of The Giving Doll volunteers for bringing some much needed comfort to boys and girls affected by CDKL5.
